The city of Fresno evicted a group of homeless people that lived in the shade of an overpass today. The location of the encampment, on Santa Fe street south of Ventura in downtown Fresno, is significant because of the heat. Weather forecasters have said today might be the hottest day of the summer – 111 degrees. For the homeless people who lived under the overpass, the shade made life a little more bearable. The are now being pushed onto the pavement and streets.
