As much as I despise these people (google Westboro Baptist for more info), I do believe that they should be protected from erroneous arrests under the First Amendment.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A member of the Topeka church that protests soldier funerals has been arrested in Nebraska.

Police arrested Shirley Phelps-Roper on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after her ten-year-old son stomped on an American flag during a protest in Bellevue. The 49-year-old Phelps-Roper is a daughter of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps.

Phelps-Roper isn’t denying that she allowed the boy to stand on the flag, but she says the action is protected by the U-S Constitution.
